The mating season will begin in another couple of months so the ospreys will begin to build up the nest from now on.

the Australian Pied Oystercatcher is found in coastal areas of Australia. The white breast and belly distinguish this oystercatcher from its cousin the sooty oystercatcher which is all black. They inhabit mudflats, sandbanks and sandy ocean beaches and are rarely seen along rocky coastlines. It is seldom seen far from the coast. They eat sandworms, molluscs, crabs and insects. They probe in the mud with their long bill.
