THE CHICKS WON'T LEAVE THE NEST  UNTIL THEY LEARN HOW TO FISH FOR THEMSELVES. NOW THE WATCH IS ON TO SEE IF AND WHEN THEY ACHIEVE THIS MILESTONE.

Osprey House is open 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday. Opening hours are from 9am to 3pm Tuesday to Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm, except Public Holidays when the House will be closed but the boardwalks remain open. Our gates are closed at 6pm each night. However the boardwalks remain open. Come along and bring the kids for some fun!

Draw an Osprey workshop at Osprey House

Next date: Sunday, 02 November 2025 | 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM

Join us for a creative day at Osprey House and learn how to draw one of Australia’s most iconic birds, the Osprey.

This hands-on workshop is all about bringing birds to life on paper. You’ll watch live demonstrations and try different sketching and illustration techniques. You don't need any previous drawing experience to take part! Whether you’re a birdwatcher, nature lover, scientist, or environmentalist, this is your chance to discover the art of bird illustration.

The workshop goes beyond drawing. You’ll head outside to watch Ospreys in their natural habitat along the boardwalks of Osprey House. Learn how to notice details, improve your bird identification skills, and translate what you see into sketches.

We recommend bringing: a hat, sunscreen, water bottle, lunch, snacks.  All sketching materials are provided.
