to OSPREY HOUSE

OSPREYS ARE ALSO KNOWN AS FISH HAWKS

DID YOU KNOW?
THE CHICKS WON'T LEAVE THE NEST UNTIL THEY LEARN HOW TO FISH FOR THEMSELVES. NOW THE WATCH IS ON TO SEE IF AND WHEN THEY ACHIEVE THIS MILESTONE.
Osprey House is open 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday. Opening hours are from 9am to 3pm Tuesday to Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm, except Public Holidays when the House will be closed but the boardwalks remain open. Our gates are closed at 6pm each night. However the boardwalks remain open. Come along and bring the kids for some fun!
If you are looking to bring a school or group to Osprey House please use the links below in the School and group enquiries section.

The juvenile ospreys are going about the business of learning how to be an osprey. It has been very hot here and generally the ospreys abandon the nest for the cooler temperatures of the mangroves. they are learning to fish on their own.
